GRE Sample Questions

GRE ® (Graduate Record Examinations)® is a computer based examination. As you begin the Computer based general test, test questions of medium difficulty are put forth. Which will be the next question presented, is based on how you answered the preceding questions. If you answered the earlier questions correctly, more difficult questions will typically be presented. If your responses have been incorrect, less difficult questions will be presented.

As each questions is scored before you take the next question, you cannot go back and change your earlier response.

The Test Pattern for GRE is:

Verbal: 30-minute section - 30 questions
Quantitative: 45-minute section - 28 questions
Analytical: 60-minute section - 35 questions

The time taken for the Gre cat is dependent on each section - the Verbal is for 30 mins, Quantitative for 45 mins and Analytical, for an hour. Along with the surprise section, which could be any one of these three, the total test duration could be anywhere between 2 hours 45 mins to 3 hours 15 mins.

After you have completed the test, you have the option of viewing or canceling your scores. (Note: If you cancel the scores, you will NOT be refunded.) You can also request GRE to report your scores to four Colleges of your choice for free. The list of colleges as well as the departments will be displayed - you can choose up to four colleges. You will have to use the Additional Score Report Request form to submit your scores to the other colleges ($13 fee per college).
